Volunteer Opportunities:

Docent (Tour Guide)
Lead tours of the only Frank Lloyd Wright building in Oregon, and the only one open to tours in the Pacific Northwest. We’ll train you! All we require is that you have a willingness to learn, enjoy being around people and spend about 3.5 hours per shift, once a month minimum. Experience working with the public and some level of public speaking is nice but not necessary. Getting to meet folks from all over the world, is just one of the perks!

Gardening
Just like your home, our yard benefits from continuous care and maintenance. This includes planting, trimming, pruning, weeding, raking, fertilizing and more. There’s always something to keep you busy.

Architecture in Schools
The Gordon House is an educator’s resource center for materials and tours that support K-12 core curriculum in the Silver Falls Public School District and other Oregon schools. To supplement their studies, college and university students regularly tour the house. Volunteers on our Education Committee support this vital role.

Special Event Assistance
Great for those who eschew a regular schedule, our special private and public events need extra hands on deck to help with the many tasks of pulling off a major event, both during and prior to the event.

And more . .  .

Don’t think you have the time?
We don’t need much of your time. Once a week, or once a month, or less for special event volunteers—is all it takes. We can tailor the work to your time and availability.

Don’t see a task you’d like?
What’s your area of interest? If the list of opportunities doesn’t fit your expertise or satisfy your urge to volunteer, talk with us. We can help find a niche for you, doing something you enjoy while helping to preserve America’s architectural history in Oregon.

Don’t like to work alone?
Bring a friend or a family member, or gather up your group or club to work on a project together. Many hands make light work and more fun.

You’ve convinced me I can help! Where do I sign up?
If you are interested in volunteering at the only building in Oregon designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, complete the volunteer interest form. A staff member will contact you as soon as they can.
